Guccio Gucci, a leather craftsman, who became famous for the quality of his work, founded the house of Gucci in 1906. By 1938, Gucci had expanded to Rome with the opening of a designer boutique. Guccio Gucci was the designer of many of the products, which became the core of his productions. Gucci had six children and his four sons became involved with the company.
Aldo Gucci, one of Guccio's sons, gave the house of Gucci international exposure by opening boutiques in London, Paris, New York, and later in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Korea.
