I discovered this cologne in 1963 while in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands and have used it ever since.
It is a daytime scent, primarily. I have a couple of Roget & Gallet scents that I prefer for evenings

This scent isn't "lemony" or citrus boring. It is a fresh light orange leaf scent that, while suited best for summer, would also work in a crisp winter cold. Not cloying . A man or woman could use this product as it is not sweet. A bit light for evening inless the humidity was high and you didn't want a heavy ,musky scent overpowering. Can be worn at office without offense.

Frankly, you can use Hermes Eau d' Orange Verte any time, day or night, but bear in mind that its most pronounced tone is citrus, so you might prefer a spicier or more complex scent for some evenings or special occasions. (As an aside, I like a light fragrance, so I use the original Armani when I want something different. In fact, if you like Armani I suspect you'd enjoy this, even though the scents aren't similar.) Eau d' Orange Verte is a terrific light summer cologne. I often use it during the colder months as well, but I do feel that the scent is lost more quickly.

This is my signature scent, the one I wear every day. I love it because it's never too strong. People can only smell it when they get very close to me, and I think that's how cologne should be worn. It has never given me a headache nor an allergic reaction, and over many years I've never tired of the clean, fresh scent.
