Originally, I tried Baldessarini after receiving a sampler vial. It was an immediate hit, and I mean BIG hit with my wife. She LOVED it. I really enjoyed the fragrance as well! Initially, it seemed like a real "find" because, unlike Polo Blue or Acqua Di Gio, this fragrance seemed to be a "well kept secret". I guess I shouldn't have been surprised by the fact that my wife purchased a bottle for me as a Christmas gift. But here is where the mixed review begins: I don't know if this has been a common problem with this cologne or if this is a quality-control issue with the bottle I received but, the fragrance is VERY short-lived. I applied three sprays in the morning, reapplied three sprays by lunch time and by 5pm, my wife had to lean in to even smell the quickly-fading scent. If this is typical of this cologne, then I would not recommend it nor would I purchase it again. If this is NOT typical, well...it's too late to ask for a replacement because the original box has already been discarded. I wish I knew the answer because we both really like the fragrance.

Ingredients supposedly include bitter orange (although I don't detect it), Douglas Fir, mint and tobacco. I get mostly the fir and mint/tobacco accords nicely blended into a light fragrance, somewhat floral and very-well made. It remains much the same from start to finish but recedes rather quickly, 2-3 hours tops. If you appreciate Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentrée, Oscar de la Renta Por Lui or even YSL's Opium, you'll probably admire Baldessarini. Each are different but connected by their understated sophistication.

This is an excellent fragrence, I use it for special occasions and have found the women love it. Excellent product.
