I was first introduced to Tabac by my girlfriend in highschool in 1963 who bought me a bottle in the Bahamas. I have used the product exclusively since then. It is not sold too many places and often difficult to find which is ok as long as it is available.

Another favorite scent from the seventies. Those of us who grew up in NYC during the seventies and went clubbing during the old Disco days will remember Tabac! It's rugged, but not overpowering.

My preference for Tabac is purely sentimental if long standing. It is my understanding that the olfactory center in the brian is adjacent to an emotional center and thus the phenomena that smells stimulate emotional responses and/or memories. I attribute this to why I like Tabac. I first encounter Tabac as an adolescent. My father worked at[...] and frequently brought home sample packages of different fragrances from the cosmetics department. I was coming of age during the advent of Ralph Lauren's Polo, Karl Lagerfeld and Jovan Musk- heavy high end fragrances and "cheap" scents like Canoe, Brut and English Leather (available by the sprits in men's room dispensers for a quarter). Tabac was and remains my favorite from that epoch, although it was a classic itself by then. I also evolved through a Skin Bracer and a Pachouli phase and have come back to Tabac as my signature scent.

My discovery of Tabac was on a business trip to Germany 1n December 1969. The Tabac line of products was on display in a Dusseldorf department store. I became a steady user of many of their products since. I have always received complements on the use of the Tabac line of products saying it was pleasant and not overpowering.

A pleasing fragrance that starts tart, almost pungent, but then settles to a warm and comfortable aroma. Classic men's aftershave. Not exceptional but agreeable and satisfying. Good for the office and weekends and after a workout at the gym. A little goes a long way and you certainly get a lot for your dollar.
