If you're partial to modern-day, watered-down aquatics, don't even THINK about this! A fragrance-bomb extraordinaire in the best possible way. This stuff is serious, old-school sophistication. Best for evening formal wear, where french-cuffs and cummerbunds are required. Heavy, heavy floral opening with an omnipresent accord of spices and wafting incense throughout the entire presentation. Although originally released in 1981, I could easily see this cologne having being worn to society balls 100 years prior. While overall the dry-down is very 'soft' it's still strong enough that you need some heft in your presence to wear this one comfortably. Not for the young, the timid, or the inexperienced. Excellent cologne for the price!

I used to wear this scent back when it first came out but don't remember it being so intense. Of course there are characteristics or components of it I still appreciate but I find its top notes overwhelming. In analyzing these notes I've concluded that most likely its either the Galbanum or Aldehydes or both that throw it over the top! It's a shame because otherwise I believe it would prove to be a pleasantly exotic, spicy floral, wood, and incense like fragrance. In fact, this is how I remember it.

I started using this product when it first came out(sample) My wife really liked it. This was in the early seventies if I remember right. I'm now 70 years young and still buy it. I have always had compiments when wearing it and still do. My grown granddaughters also like the soft smell. My wife still says I smell sexy. That's important to me.
