Just when I thought that I had all of the Hermes fragrances that I needed, WOW!! I discovered this at a local retailer. Sampled it, and it was definitely love at first smell! Had to have it. It doesn't smell like anything I've ever had before. There are no floral notes in it at all. Some say that it is unisex, but it is not going to be shared by me with ANYONE...LOL. Smells clean and refreshing. The perfumers at Hermes are the absolute best at what they do. The Elixer smells wonderful, but much stronger that the Eau Des. Elixer should probably be worn at night, but the Eau Des anytime. I'm smelling myself right now.

I was trying to get the Elixir and wrongly thought this was the same. It's a good scent, good value, my daughter says it's definitely me but it's not the same. I do wear it every day to see if it's going to be "mine". I would put it at an 8 on a scale on 1-10 with the Elixir at 10.

I love my Hermes lotion! I was in my favorite department store and one of the girls who always helps me in cosmetics suggested I try it. I am a big fan of Eau de Merveilles cologne - it's delicious and I always get compliments on it. I had high hopes for the body lotion, but was surprised to find it has a strange smell - nothing like the cologne, only a peppery odor, and what I consider a very ugly bottle, too. (not like the one pictured at the top of the page.) I wanted to get the shower gel, too - now I'm hesitant. It's expensive, and if it's anything like the body lotion, it will be a huge waste of $$$.

I was trying to decide if this scent or another similiar one was best overall. The one I had worn for sometime or the Hermes Eau Des Merveilles. So I did some "field" research. Took a stick sample of both and asked 5 men I didn't know, of different ages, just off the street, in a store, etc which they preferred. Each of them took a few sniffs of each and admitted that while they were very similiar, 4 out of the 5 chose this one. Enough proof for me!

The reviews for this were mostly good which encouraged me to try it, and the price was right. However, it's just kind of strange and a little off-putting, especially when first applied. Once it wears off a bit it's better, but you really smell the pepper A LOT! I think it would be better suited as a mens cologne, but I'll still use it.
