This scent was my very first favorite and still is - it's clean and sexy and can be worn night or day. A Classy scent that is not too powdery or old lady. I was in love with the body oil which they don't carry anymore - this is VERY sad since using the bath oil during the day lasted longer and it had a special quality which I have never found! Bring the bath oil back!!!!!!!

The newer formulations of the EDT in the spray bottle cannot hold a candle to the splash, which smells the way it used to smell back in the 70s. I don't know why this is so, but as long as I have my splash, I'm a happy girl! Scentiments ROCKS!!! :)

I have used L'Air Du Temps for as long as I can remember. My mom used to spray it on me every time I went out (school, church, etc). I always felt so special and completely ready. I have tried other scents, but they either were too strong or would give me a headache. I also feel complete and ready to go about my day after applying my perfume. The smell is so fresh and pretty and never overwhelming. People are always complementing me and asking if I'm wearing some new expensive fragrance. I always comment that it's the fragrance I've always worn. The pricing at Scentiments is phenominal, I checked at the department store and I could buy several tester bottles for the price of one in their store. No difference (some of the testers didn't have the lid, but I have several extras that fit perfectly). Thank you very much, I am delighted with my purchase and my savings.

One of the best known and loved fragrance classics, L'air du Temps was introduced sixty years ago to commemorate the end of World War II and a return to elegance and fashion.
L'air du Temps is a French phrase with a second meaning which is difficult to translate, but means something like what is currently being talked about. The English equivalent might be "something in the air." In 1948, when Roberto Ricci introduced this perfume, that "something in the air" was a sense of optimism as Europe moved beyond the events of World War II and the immediate aftermath. Designers were looking for something to bring women back to the world of fashion that had been put on hold during the war years.
The L'air du Temps bottle, designed by Marc Lalique, is a work of art; the twin doves on the carved crystal stopper symbolize post war hope and peace. The fragrance packaging today doesn't always include a crystal stopper, in fact most of today's stoppers are plastic, but the doves are always found somewhere on the packages. This spray canister has the advantage of being refillable, so I don't miss the stopper too much.
The juice itself is a sophisticated floral. According to various perfume reference guides:
Top Notes are: bergamot, peach, rosewood, and neroli
Middle Notes are: gardenia, carnation, jasmine, May rose, ylang-ylang, orchid, lily, clove, orris
Base Notes are: ambergris, musk, vetiver, benzoin, cedarwood, moss, sandalwood, spices

I remember being drawn to a little bottle on my Nana's dressing table with two white doves on the stopper. As a child, though, the perfume was a bit too heady for me, and I reluctantly left the little doves to Nana. Now that I have had the chance to try L'Air du Temps as an adult, I like the perfume as much as its container! LADT is quirky- it smells like the 1940's- both synthetic and a little quaint- but I like that duality. Too much is a bit on the chemical-y side, but a light spritz is all innocence and optimism! This is a TRUE perfume. Non-offensive, subtle and smells great. It is a multi generational scent also. I have been wearing this since I became a teenager and now my daughter (who is 18) steals my perfume all the time. I have had men ask me to write down the name of it so that they can buy it for their wives:)Not that they can smell me from afar....just men that I work closely with or have come close enough to get a whiff

I have never felt like it was too heavy. I love this stuff more than any of the others. I keep going back to this one. I never get tired of it.

Overpowering. It gave me a headache, and I barely put any on! It also smelled to me like the low-grade perfumes ladies wore when I was a kid. But it does last a long time! I couldn't get rid of the odor even after scrubbing.
