Old scent and "unusual". I have been wearing this for almost 20 something years. It is a hard to find scent, and most retailers look dumbfounded unless you are in a "hoity toity" city area! LOL... Because I am so in love with "First," when I got it I used it every day. It is such a classy and expensive smell! And the closest fragrance I could use to describe this product is the perfume I used when I was just getting interested in fragrances (at about 14 years old), Arpege by Lanvin. Even though Arpege was very popular then, it smelled original to each user. At a recent out of town convention, my friend/roommate brought a bottle of First, and when she sprayed it on I could'nt believe how much it reminded me of my youth, when I discovered Arpege. My friend had bought it on a cruise and did not know if one could find it locally; but I got on line and found it immediately on Scentiments' website. You sell it for 1/3 the price that she paid, and it is the very same bottle and size that she had. I am thrilled to know how to purchase it so reasonably.

I was asked to get this for cousin in UK. After all the ordering and repackaging I could not mail it out of US at all. So I was left with the perfume which I had not used personally. I was curious about my cousin's desire for FIRST so I tried it. At first I found it a little raw and chemical. Once the second note took over I liked it. Also later on it remained fresh and did not become at all heavy or stale.On the box it did not mention any floral names. they all seemed to be man made ingredients??

i bought this perfume based on a review i read here at scentiments. the review was right on. If you love Chanel No 5 you will love FIRST. It is in the same family but not the exact same scent. I use "First" the first thing out of bed and the last thing before bed. I can say nothing negative about it other than I use it so often it does not last long enough.
I never try other scents anymore. I have stuck with first ever since my first encounter with it what has to be at least ten years ago, or more.

I really love First and am waiting until the type of container I have used for years is available. This bottle is lovely but not easy to hold for spraying the product.

Very classy aldehyde fragrance, a younger lighter relative of Chanel No.5. Very well balanced, not overpowering combination of white flowers. Can be weared both at the office and for romantic occasion, but it sparkles the most in the evening.
